Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 1.5.3 Build 20231227

So I recently switched to a fiber internet connection giving me 1GBs down and 1GBS up. I noticed that my download speed through ethernet connection through my deco X60  is slower than when I directly connect my laptop to the modem provided by my internet provider.

Tested on Windows laptop (Windows 11) and Macbook Pro

Below are some figures. The strangest part is that the upload speed through a wired connection from the Deco is higher than the download speed, and at a speed I would actually expect.

Tested with multiple cables (cat5e / cat6), but since speed directly from Zyxel modem is good, I don’t think the issue is in the cables.

I have my QoS settings in my Deco at 940, so that is not the issue either. Mesh is all wired with Cat6.

Any thoughts?

Wired from Zyxel directly to Laptop
863d / 946u

Wired from Zyxel to Deco X60 to laptop
588d / 912u

Wired from inverter to Deco X60 to laptop (VLAN setting)
575d / 925u

Wired from inverter to Deco X60 to Switch (VLAN setting)
611d / 922u

Wireless near Deco X60 (laptop)
642d / 642u

Wireless near Deco X60 (mobiel)
810d / 826u

  @Kloos82

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

You could try to modify the QOS bandwidth to 1000mbps download/upload first.

Are all the speedtest results from the main Deco X60?

Wired from inverter to Deco X60 to laptop (VLAN setting)

Wired from inverter to Deco X60 to Switch (VLAN setting)

--- Do you use the "inverter" to replace the Zyxel Modem?

It is also suggested to set a different Deco X60 as the main Deco to see whether it helped:

How to replace the main Deco with another Deco

Thanks again and best regards.
