2. The above list might not include all models and hardware versions. It is recommended to keep watching the firmware releases for your router, as all the newly supported features will be listed in the patch notes if/when it is added to your version.
User Scenarios:
Some users would prefer to, or are limited by their devices to, have their main modem router acting as the gateway and DHCP server in the network, which requires using the TP-Link Wi-Fi router in AP (Access Point) Mode to avoid the double-NAT issue. However, they also wish to utilize the EasyMesh feature of the TP-Link Wi-Fi router to create a mesh network with other EasyMesh routers or extenders.
The topology is roughly as follows (Topo 1):

Note: In this topo, both the EasyMesh Wi-Fi router and the satellite router/extender must support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.
You may also connect the EasyMesh Wi-Fi routers like below, it will also work (Topo 3):

However, by configuring a AX55 V1 in access point (AP) mode (main router), it will be possible to use the two AX58 units as EasyMesh satellites, with an Ethernet backhaul to ensure a stable and fast connection. This way, all three devices will operate as Wi-Fi access points, offering intelligent inter-AP roaming management through EasyMesh technology, allowing seamless transitions between access points.
Moreover, the router provided by my ISP will remain the only device handling IP routing across the entire network.

@davidperrin1 So you have three TP-Link EasyMesh routers, 1*AX55V1 and 2*AX58V2.
If that’s the case, you can configure the AX55 V1 in AP Mode to serve as the EasyMesh main unit, then add the AX58 V2 to the EasyMesh network using an Ethernet backhaul as per topo 3.

@Kevin_Z Can anyone confirm to me if in AX55 AP mode now with easymesh, I still have parental control and QoS functions? Or maybe in something other than the AX55Or maybe in something other than the AX55.

Hi,
Just for you (and anyone else who is wondering), here are some screenshots showing the menus available on an Archer AX55 V1 in AP mode.
There is no HomeShield in AP mode. And it should be no different on the other Archer models.
