Hello. I have a problem with the Easy Mesh connection between the MR505 router and the RE315. The device is not searched by the router, and pairing via WPS does not work. Both devices have Easy Mesh. What could be the problem?

Hi,

When connecting a TP-Link EasyMesh range extender to an EasyMesh router via the web GUI or Tether app the search has to be done from the range extender's side, not the router. (i.e. log into the RE315 -> then search for and select the SSID(s) of the router; btw, if the router supports EasyMesh, then the word [EasyMesh] should appear next to the router's SSID)

Regarding "pairing via WPS does not work". Do you mean the WPS method only connects the RE315 as a regular range extender, but not as an EasyMesh node. Or do you mean the WPS method doesn't connect the RE315 to the router at all?

@woozle Thank you for your answer. I searched on the router and on the amplifier. In both cases Easy Mesh is not searched. Yes, the Easy Mesh method connects to the router as a regular signal extender and not an Easy Mesh node.

Could you maybe perform a "Factory Defaults Restore" on both devices? (either via the webpage or by using the physical "Reset" buttons)

I remember one previous case where this actually helped to solve an EasyMesh connection problem.

@woozle I restored the devices to factory settings. Unfortunately, it didn't help. I also connected a second RE315 amplifier and it is exactly the same. In my opinion, it is some error in the router or amplifier software.

The MR505 appears to be a brand new model for which I can't find much information.

Could you please make a screenshot of the MR505's "EasyMesh" settings menu and post it here, so that we can see what type of TP-Link GUI this model uses? (I mean the web GUI, not the Tether app)
