Wifi speed
My routers max mbps is 450mbps. But my extender only goes up to 255 at its best usually like 235 or lower. So why is this?

Hi,
When you connect a wireless client device to a wireless range extender the data is being transferred two times via the same Wi-Fi channel. (that's how most wireless range extenders are designed)
In your example, in download direction the data has to be transferred wirelessly from your router to your RE450 and again from the RE450 to your wireless client device.
A Wi-Fi channel has a limited "capacity" and if you share that capacity for two simultanous data transfers, then the resulting data transfer speed gets roughly halved.
