Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.7.6 Build20240305 Rel. 38320

Hi folks

Last Saturday (20-Jul) my Deco M5 has auto-updated it's firmware and ever since my download speed is capped at 90Mbps - it feels like it is being throttled somehow.

My home connection is fiber 1000Mbps d/l and 100Mbps u/l and before the firmware update my download speed with wired PC was about 800Mbps.

My upload bandwidth hasn't changed after the firmware update.

To troubleshoot - I connected a PC directly to the fiber box and it downloads at 800Mbps so I am certain that the issue is with the Deco M5.

My home internet compnay tech support that everything is looking fine on their end.

Does anyone experience the same issue post the latest firmware update???

What can I do?

Would factory reset roll back the latest firmware update?

Thanks and appreciate any help...

Yaniv

  @Wales

It means Main Deco, for whatever reason, can't negotiate gigabit link over Ethernet cable to the fiber box and downgrades that link to 100Mbps speed. That is why your download/upload speed over Deco mesh is capped at 100Mbps.

1. Unplug that Ethernet cable from both ends, then plug it back.

2. If that does not help, replace cable. I would suggest to look around your place and if you have an old Cat 5E cable somewhere - use it to wire Main Deco to fiber box and see if with that cable you'll get your speeds back.

Do you see "Abnormal WAN port speed" message when you open Deco app:

@Alexandre. YES! I can see the same message. However the message doesn't make sense because my ethernet cables are all cat7.

The proof is when I connect a PC directly to the fiber device (using the same ethernet cables) - the download speed is 800Mbps.

What should I do?
