TP Link extender
Hello
I have a Tp link extender that has ethernet cable connected to a IPTV mag box , the magbox is hdmi connected to an LG smart TV. On flashing up the Magbox a tplink screen appears asking for password. I cannot input any password as neither the Tv nor mag box remotes open up an onscreen keyboard.
How do I input the password ?
What is the password?
Does the extender password need to be the same as the password on the bottom of the router?
Is there a way to disable this authentication process ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
p.s. the extender is working as I can use the Smart tv browser and other apps its just when I change the source on the tv to the hdmi input, I briefly see the magbox loading then the screen changes to TP login as per attached image

Hi,
In the screenshot, it is asking for the local password.
When setting up the Range Extender for the first time, you will be asked to set a web management admin password for the extender. It is different from the WIFI password.
So the TV will also work normally with the range extender and the issue only happens when you change to HDMI input?
What is the model number of the range extender?

@Sunshine Hi, thank you for taking time to reply, appreciated.
The Tv itself is connected to the wifi and functions perfectly, so the extender is doing its job.
The extender is model number RE450
The issue is I cannot watch iptv via the Magbox as when I flash up the magbox the TP login screen appears. Unfortunately the magboxbox is not a wifi version so using cable.
Normally, when a text dialogue box appears the LG onscreen keyboard should pop up but it does not.
On reflection maybe I should post on an LGTV forum to ask about getting the keyboard to appear so I can input.
I can reset the extender, so I can change the password, but I have no way of inputting the details on the LGTV.
Is there a way to stop or disable the RE450 from asking for a password ?
Again thanks for your reply, Sorry also I realise My post is long winded but not sure what info is relevant

Hi,
I am not sure why the page will show up when you are not trying to login to the extender's webpage.
But please also make sure if your magbox need set up VLAN with the IPTV settings. If it needs a VLAN ID then it cannot work this way. In that case, please connect the magbox directly to the main router.
