Client changing deco units.
Hi All,
I have 3 deco units, 2 x X55 and 1 x M4.
The main PC in my house is closest to Deco 1 (approx 20m away) and for 75% of the day it stays on this unit.
However im finding more regularly that the PC is connecting to Deco 2 (approx 20m away). When this happens connection speed is dropped from 700Mbps down to around 30Mpbs which is FAR from ideal.
Anyone aware of a fix here? How can we force a client to stay on the closest deco? Anyone know why its doing this? Obviously my PC doesnt move at all.
Cheers

Check my recommendations for laptop (same should work for your PC), they are simple and should be easy to implement: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/672946?replyId=1375336
If this alone is not enough, let me know and we'll discuss other options.

Also, is your original post correct: it says distance to each of Deco from PC is 20m. Are Deco 1 and Deco 2 both on the same distance from PC?

Second part of my recommendations from that link is to configure PC network adapter to force it on 5GHz and to make it rescan WiFi networks frequently. Have you checked if your PC has configurable WiFi network adapter with these parameters?
That would be preferred approach, as it only touches PC configuration.

@Alexandre. Hi mate, yes this seems to of worked, forcing 5Ghz for the PC and also changing Roaming Aggressiveness to "low".
Appreciate your help mate, you have been great!

Well, I am glad it works for you, but my suggestion is to set Roaming Aggressiveness to "high".
"Roaming Aggressiveness" defines how often device will rescan networks to find best WiFi signal. Such scanning drains device battery, that is why it is set to medium or low, because of laptops and tablets.
You have PC, you wouldn't care about extra microscopic drain of power from electric outlet for networks rescan.
Here is what happens when Roaming Aggressiveness is set to "low:" when PC loses connection to nearby Deco unit, for example because that Deco unit was temporarily powered off, PC will reconnect somewhere else, but when nearby Deco unit comes online PC will stay connected to faraway Deco.
You should set Roaming Aggressiveness to "high" (or whatever highest setting is named).
