Hi guys, I have been troubleshooting for a few days now, following loads of options from the forums here with no joy.

I have been facing very poor connections and chased it down to 'DNS 188.31.250.128 resolve timeout for dns.msftncsi.com ', These timeout logs go back for days with mostly fails, but a successful log on 8.8.8.8 every now and then.

(FYI my devices are all behaving very strangely ie , Netfix would take 2 or 3 attempts to connect but once connected we can stream a whole movie with no interruptions... but trying to connect other devices during the same movie will fail to connect to the internet... Speed scanners will fail to load on browser a few times then run download test but fail upload tests..then fail completely ...the pass with flying colors..... All the while the movie is still streaming with no buffering or interference what so ever)

I was chasing and trying all kinds of things when i suddenly started working really well.....??

I checked logs and noticed a device connecting on 192.168.1.106 right before everything goes well and DNS 188.31.250.128 resolves correctly.

Now for the weird part... My Lan settings show no device on 192.168.1.106

While writing this message the following happened...

Everything is still working fine now and the 'DNS 188.31.250.128 resolve succeed for www.msftncsi.com' is now logging and connections are good....

Any idea on whats going on here?? What could be connecting to my 192.168.1.106 and not show on my list? Or why DNS kept failing in the first place?

Thanks in advance..

Tony
