However, some users have reported an issue where the Quest 3 is unable to detect or connect to 6 GHz wireless networks. Given that 6 GHz offers faster speeds and lower latency than previous wireless standards, this can be frustrating for dedicated gamers and enthusiasts.
In this article, we'll walk through some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve this problem and get your Meta Quest 3 connected to the 6 GHz network of our Wi-Fi 7 routers.
Troubleshooting Suggestions/Workaround:
If you, unfortunately, encounter a similar issue, there are some useful suggestions shared by our users, you could give them a go one at a time:
1. Ensure that your Meta Quest 3 is running the latest firmware version.
Meta regularly releases updates that can address compatibility issues. Go to the Settings menu, select "About", and check for any available updates. Install any updates that are found.
2. Ensure that the Wi-Fi 7 router firmware is up-to-date.

3. Ensure the 6 GHz wireless settings on your Wi-Fi 7 router are correctly configured as follows.
Based on Meta's public statements here, the Quest 3 utilizes Android 12L, which does not inherently support Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be and 320MHz) functionality at the system level. While we hope Meta will update the system to Android 13(+) in the future, which may enable better compatibility, for now, the recommended approach is to configure the 6 GHz network settings on our Wi-Fi 7 routers as follows to optimize performance on the Quest 3:
- Security: WPA3 - Personal (default)
- Password (yours for Wi-Fi)
- Channel Width: 20/40/80/160 Mhz
- Enable PSC (checked)
- Auto (default)
- Mode: 802.11ax ONLY
