NAT Hairpin: Source IP Address is WAN IP Address?

Hello,
I use the NAT hairpin feature of the router and have noticed that when packets arrive at the destination, the source IP is set to the public IP of the network rather than to the local gateway IP address. My previous router was a Google Wifi, and it set the source IP to the gateway address, which allowed me to detect the packets were arriving over LAN.
Is there any way to change this behavior?
Thanks.
