Model: Archer AX72
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 20240125 rel.39949(4555)

Hey, just "upgraded" to archer ax72 from Netgear R7000P, not using the smart connection.

While the 5Ghz channel is working pretty much the same like the Nightgear(speed test went went up by a few ms for the close by test providers, from 6-7 to 9-11) and pretty much same speed and coverage, the 2.4Ghz is a mess.

Speed tests are constantly 30+ms with 25+ms jitter, speed would not go over 70Mb(all my speed tests are from the same spot 1-1.5m from the router. With same device), also the connection is bad when I try to use the web and even using the router control panel is unstable on that channel.

I have 1000/250 connection speed and on my 5Ghz I get 850+ so connection is good to isp.

Things I have tried already:

1. Disable easymesh

2. Changing channels to clearer ones and width.

3. Verified on different devices that 5Ghz is ok while the 2.4 is horrible on every one of them.

4. Using devices that support ax and those who are not

I have seen multiple threads stating that problem with this model but no one offered some feedback.

Anything else to do before I realize I just bought a heavy paper weight?

  @Suliohad

Hi, what devices you've used to test the 2.4G WiFi speed? Please let us know the brand and model no.

Besides, please check and make sure QoS is disabled on the router.

  @Suliohad same here, bought AX72 Pro a few days ago, 5GHz is killer but 2,4 GHz kinda sucks - downlink is acceptable but uplink speed degrades very fast when you move away from the router and has terribly high jitter (only uplink) - the speedtest uplink indicator stutters everytime I do a speedtest. Seems like the 2,4 band module is just that bad
