Does QoS do anything?

Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.7.3

I have TV set to high priority (always) and QoS set to streaming (high) and downloading (low).  Whenever my Mac (not high priority) downloads software updates in the background it takes all the available bandwidth and tv freezes.  The only workaround is to block the Mac from the network.  I'm out in the sticks so speed is only 12-15Mbps.

  @DWUK

Hi, Here are some suggestions:

1. Please update Deco M5 to the latest 1.7.4 version first.

2. Set "High Priority Mode" to Standard, but still leave TV as the high-priority device.

Best regards.

  @DWUK didn't make any difference. As soon as there is any download activity in the background, it takes all of the bandwidth.

  @DWUK so basically QoS is a myth. Doesn't matter what settings I use, as soon as the Mac starts downloading in the background it uses all available bandwidth.  The only way to stop it is to block it from the network.
