Model: Archer AX23
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20230725 Rel. 56344(4555) Hardware Version: Archer AX23 v1.20

I have just bought an Archer AX1800; I already had a RE330 which I was using as a simple Access Point connected via ethernet to main router.

I've now replaced the router with the Archer AX1800 which I bought because of the EASYMesh feature.

I tried setting it up by connecting the RE330 to the AX1800 via an ethernet cable, then following these instructions

The satellite device shows up as connected via ethernet but after a while everyting stops working; devices wirelessly connected to the main router start having problems and the main router setup page is unreachable even via ethernet.

It only starts working again if I physically disconnect the ethernet cable connecting the RE330.

I've tried multiple times. I even tried without the ethernet cable: the main router keeps working, and the satellite device appears connected via wireless (wireless icon shown instead of the ethernet one), but there is definetly no wireless netowrk being extended around the RE330.

It only works in dumb access point mode, which is what every router/repeater has been doing for the last 20 years.

I cannot believe this can be so bad in 2024. I must be doing something wrong, what is it?

RE330 doesn't support an Easymesh ethernet backhaul - it suports only wireless backhaul.

So, remove the ethernet cable and join RE330 wirelessly to the AX23 Easymesh.

At this moment only RE315 supports Easymesh ethernet backhaul.

@terziyski it didn't look like it was working wirelessly either

When close to the RE330 set up as a wireless satellite, I could only see the main SSID but not the guest or the IoT one

That's a know limitation for Easymesh at the moment - check this post.
