Model: Deco
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.7.3

hi,

There seems to be an issue with my M5.

My setup is a Compal modem-router CH7465LG-ZG with 4 ethernet ports.

1 of the ethernet ports (p1) has an Deco M5 attached to it. (M5 is in AP mode, smart DHCP off).

1 of the ethernet ports (p2) has a PC attached to it via ethernet.

Suddenly the ethernet ports of the router get "frozen"- no ethernet traffic possible anymore. Deco M5 has a red LED.

After removing the ethernet cable to the M5 - everything is back to normal.

My setup was way more complex - but in the end it drilled down to this - it seems that there is something wrong with the M5.

I now exchanged it with a different M5 (I have 6 in total) - see what's happening.

Anyone knows what's going on ?

Marcel

Update 4-12-2023

I exchanged the main Deco M5 with a new one - same effect. After 30 mins to 7 days - the modem-router ethernet ports freeze.

Anyone from TP-Link can give me an idea what to do here? @David-TP ?

Update 21-12-2023

Changed the internet modem to an Arris TG2492 - here the same thing happens again.

Does anyone have the same problem? I.e. plain simple - 1 Deco direct on ethernet port of modem, configured as AP.

On one other ethernet port of the modem just a laptop connected via utp.And then after a few minutes to hours - it freezes the modem, as if there is a loop in the network, which there is not.

  @MarcelPk

I have setup similar to yours, but mine does not cause any issues.

Deco mesh runs in AP mode.

DOCSIS cable modem/router CGM4331COM from Technicolor.

Satellite Deco M5 connected directly to cable router Ethernet port.

NAS connected to another Ethernet port of router.

8-port gigabit switch connected to third Ethernet port of router.

All Ethernet ports of that switch are occupied, including two hardwired Deco units: another Satellite M5 and Main M9 Plus. Also, desktops and laptop are connected to that switch.

Have been running this home network configuration for 2+ years without issues.

Technicolor modem is recent replacement by ISP. Before, it were Hitron CODA DOCSIS modem with four Ethernet ports. I had no issues with it as well.
