Hi, I'm looking to upgrade some ubiquiti acces points that are only 2.4ghz.

I think I have narrowed my search down to a 3pack of either the X50 or the X50PoE, I have the PoE in place for the current access points so either will work.

I am just trying to work out which is the better unit?

Ii see something on the X50 about HE160 and 4 streams less lag thats not listed in the specs of the X50PoE but as a bit of a technophobe I dont know what this will mean for me in use.

I will have 2 of the units in the house on in my loft near my switch and router and anothe down stairs, the other will be at the opposite end of my garden in a summer house aprox 30M away, this has a wired connection from the switch in the house and its own switch to power multiple wall outlets.

TIA for any Help Keith.

  @KeithEvans

Hi, welcome to the community.

You could refer to the "Compare" between Deco X50 and Deco X50-POE.

https://www.tp-link.com/en/compare/?typeId=5700&productIds=60879%2C52557

PS: the latest firmware of Deco X50-POE_V1-1.2.4 also supports VPN, reboot schedule, and other advanced features Here-Understand the Differences Among Deco Firmware Platforms.

They both support 160mhz and 4 streams.

Since Deco X50-POE could not supply power for other POE devices(in case you need that later), and if you don't require POE, I think Deco X50 will be more competitive.

The latest firmware for Deco X50_V1_1.3.1 has also added other features, like Whitelist/Mac Filtering and Matter.

Thank you very much and best regards.
