One T-P link router is linked to the original router supplied by my ISP next to each other in the same place. Extender RE 200 is placed near to my P.C away from routers. When tested ,ookla shows  lesser speed at my PC with the extender than  my PC with the orignal wifi source.

@mxtraj The function of the wifi signal extender is to extend the existing wifi signal in order to provide better signal strength and connection stability in areas that the original signal cannot cover. It only transmits the original signal, and does not increase the signal speed.I think you should refer to the official speed of the RE, or adjust the RE position to get the best speed.

I am having similar issue, the only reason for me getting extender was to get ethernet port for my work purposes, the speed in port is great as well as connecting my device to wifi directly also give me about 700-800 mbps. However, connecting to wifi through extender only gives me about 80-90 mbps.

@barrolete Never expected it to increase it but it slows it down. Fibre original connection to house then same at signal boosted  "_ ext" connection. AC750 model.
