Model: Archer AX3000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20230627 rel.39033(5553)

Hello

Do i need to swtich my Archer AX3000 to Access Point Mode if i connect it to the main router(DECO M4) via LAN?

i'm using DECO M4 as my main router, and i want to extend the wireless coverage by connecting the Archer AX3000 to the DECO.

Modem>>Router(DECO M4 in router mode)>>Archer AX3000(Router Mode or Access Point Mode?)

Which port should i use to connect the AX3000 to the DECO M4, WAN or LAN?

Thank You

Access point mode , WAN port is the short answer (details - Case 1), but why don't you buy an additional Deco unit to extend your network keeping the mesh in your premises.

AX3000 won't be in mesh with Deco - it will be just a standalone AP in this case.

@terziyski thanks for the answer, the reason i don't get additional deco is because the deco m4 can't support my isp 300 mbps service to my iphone and ipad. I'd try it on my windows pc and get the full 300 mbps speed, but somehow for the ipad and iphone it's only got 140 mbps download max.

@terziyski will there be a problem if i continue the operation mode in router mode? Because right after i switch to access point mode some feature of the AX3000 is disappear.

I would suggest to search for this particulat issue or post a new thread in the Deco support forum section and if it's been resolved, just buy a Deco unit.
