Do you mean there is no longer internet access after upgrading and installing the latest 1.2.1 firmware on the AX72?
Can I know who is your ISP? Please try following this thread to check some basic settings on the AX72 again, you can try resetting it to factory defaults first, then choose Dynamic IP again to see if it will receive an IP address from the modem directly.

I want to change the mac address, change the ip, press save, and it keeps prompting no internet connection. I have to reboot the router for it to take effect.
The previous version did not have this problem.

Sorry that I missed your response here.
Once updating and installing the latest firmware on AX72, do you need to reboot the router manually to connect to the internet every time you change the MAC address and IP address?
Can I know who is your ISP, and why do you need to change the MAC address or IP address frequently to receive the internet?
How did you change the MAC address? Do you refer to MAC Clone on the router web GUI?
If you can reproduce the issue every time you modify the settings, please don't reboot the router once you modified the MAC address or IP address on the router, but click on Release/Renew or Disconnect/Reconnect on the router page to check if you can connect to the internet. If not, please save the router system log and then reboot it to connect back, Email support.forum@tp-link.com for further follow-up.
