Hello community,

I am about to acquire a Wifi Mesh Deco XE75 pack.

I live in a 3 floor house with 3 bedrooms of about 150m2.

I do believe the 2-pack should be enough to cover the whole thing very decently but wanted to ask wether I should consider going for the 3-pack since there are 3 floors.

What is the ideal recommended distance between main router and auxiliar node with this system?

If going for 2-pack, I would ideally place the MAIN on ground floor and the auxiliar node on TOP floor both linked via Ethernet, hoping that intermediate floor would get coverage even though No node will be placed at that floor.

Each floor is around 50m2 approx.

Thanks for your help,

Short answer: it depends.

Longer answer:

If you want WiFi6 or WiFi6E coverage everywhere, you should place one Deco XE75 per floor to make sure you have consistent coverage around the house.

If you are OK with some places getting just WiFi5 and occasionally only 2.4GHz speeds, 2-pack may be enough.

If your house has concrete floors and/or internal brick walls, that might require even more than 3 units. You wouldn't know until you deploy first set you bought.

I would first try with the main on the intermediate floor.
