Model: Deco X90
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.6

Hi... I would like to have option to disable wifi backhaul connection and force to use ethernet only..

i have all Deco's connected with 2.5G ethernet with the main unit connected to 2.5G router (mikrotik). when i reboot router for a software/firmware upgrade, all deco client units switches to wifi backhaul, but then do not switch back to ethernet backhaul and i need to reboot client units to reestabilish 2.5g ethernet backhaul again.

  @MichalikSK

Hi, So far, the wireless Backhaul could not be disabled and there hasn't been a plan to support this feature either.

But your current issue is not supposed to happen.

Could you please help me check the following details so that we could check whether there would be any workaround:

1. Is your network topology like:

ISP modem---Mikrotik router---main Deco X90---<cable>satellite Deco X90#1----<cable>satellite Deco X90#2

  • Would there be any network switch in between?

2. What is the current operation mode on Deco, Wireless Router, or Access Point?

Wait for your reply.

Thank you very much.

  @David-TP

hi... i upgraded whole LAN to 2.5Gbit ethernet so it is like this now (with all other switches and LAN cards in PC's)

ISP -> 1Gbit SFP -> Mikrotik -> 2.5Gbit -> 2.5Gbit switch (Zyxel MG-108) -> all Deco's connected to this switch via 2.5Gbit port.

The problem is still here... the Ethernet backhaul not going up again after outage and Deco's stay on wireless backhaul even if the LAN is back operating.

Before all Deco's were connected directly to Mikrotik without switch (put a a dumb switch between, which would not be rebooted when updating Mikrotik so kind of "workaround" for me).
