AV600 Keeps Disconnecting
I know this has been covered before, but I cannot seem to find a workable solution.
I have just installed the Powerline AV600 in order to provide Wi-Fi to my home office, which is in a detached garage not too far from the house. The garage is on the same power circuit as the house, so a Powerline setup seemed like the obvious way to go.
I should say at this point that the kit works fine with ample speed for what I need to use it for when its working, however the problem is that the connection keeps...dropping...out every few minutes or so and I have to manually re-connect my devices to the network. This makes it completely unworkable for me, as if I am online with a client and the network boots me off the call it's a disaster.
I have tried:
- re-booting everything
- re-locating the units
- downloading the Windows utility and switching the power saving mode off (why is this on by default?!)
- connecting wirelessly and wired, tried different Ethernet cables
But still the problem persists. It won't go for more than about 5 minutes before dropping out.
There's so many articles and threads on this that I am amazed this is still an issue. This should be plug and play, it should not involve hours and hours of frustrating research and testing trying to figure out a problem that shouldn't be there. As I say this is mega annoying as actually the setup works well and does what I need it to perfectly, apart from the fact I can't use it for more than a few minutes before my devices lose internet access of course...
Does anyone have any pointers on this, before I request to return these units tomorrow and look for something else?
Cheers!
