Model: TL-PA4010 KIT
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hello All,

I purchased the TP-LINK AV600 TL-PA4010 KIT expecting 600Mbps Powerline Speed as stated on the box.

After setting up correctly (I have worked in IT all of my life) I could only get 100 Mbps on my Laptop (Gigabit Ethernet).

The Powerline units are less than 10 meters away on the same circuit.

The Cat 5 cables provided in the box are Cat 5 (not 5e) so can only reach a Max speed of 100 Mbps so I did not use these.

I tried various Cat 5e Cables (Still 100Mbps)

I tried Cat 6 Cables (Still 100 Mbps)

Please, can anyone tell me what I may have missed?

Thank you.

@Rayb0rn

For your information, the TL-PA4010Pkit has the 100Mbps ethernet ports. that is to say, the maximum speed from it won't be higher than 100Mbps.

The 600Mbps is the powerline link rate, not the actual speed you can get. Instead, the actual speed is decided by the bandwidth you paid, the LAN port and the powerline link rate and obstacles.

If the bandwidth you paid is more than 100Mbps, you can order a powerline adapter with gigabit LAN ports. Like TL-PA7010KIT, TL-PA8030Pkit.

May it help.
