Building a Home Network - Switch and Mesh together
Hello!
I would appreciate some help, please.
Our internet provider is Vodafone in Hungary, and we have a 1000 Mbps nominal internet connection. We were provided with a Vodafone D3.1 WiFi modem for the house, which supplies the internet. It is placed in the basement. Next to the modem, I placed a TP-LINK TL-SG116E switch, from which cables go to all the rooms, with two Ethernet connections per room.
I wanted to supplement this system with a mesh system to have a stable WiFi signal in every room.
To do this, I'm thinking of buying a TP-Link Deco X50 (3-pack) mesh system.
My question is: How can I put the two systems together? Are they compatible with each other? Is it okay if I first connect one X50 to the switch in the living room (making it the main Deco), and then connect the other two to the switches in the other rooms (bedrooms)?
What would be the proper setup if I want the Deco units to be connected via cable too, so I can have faster WiFi everywhere in the house? As far as I understand, if I don't use a cable connection between the Deco units, the WiFi speed can decrease dramatically.
Is the TP-Link Deco X50 a good choice? Any other advise?
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely
