Archer MR500 - 1000-2000 ping spike every 10 seconds consistently
Good morning all,
My Archer MR500 will ping any website for 30 - 40ms, then will jump to 1000 - 2000ms for a single ping, and then drop back down to 30-40ms. I've tried two different SIM Providers, and if over Wifi and Ethernet.
I've checked online, and can see that the MR600 version has a Beta Driver to turn off One Mesh, is this also available for the MR 500? Or could this be due to another setting on the 4G Router?
Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply!
So I've updated the MR500 as per your message, and the ping spikes dropped from 1000+ down to 100 - 300. And it looks like the average ping went up by 10ms, but I can live with that if the ping spikes stopped =D !!
Also here is the info from my 6400 as requested:
Device Information
Firmware Version:
1.4.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220506 Rel.57555n
Hardware Version:
TL-MR6400 v5.3 00000002
Online Upgrade
Latest Version:
1.4.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220506 Rel.57555n
Internet is unavailable
I will use this updated MR500 version for a few days, fingers crossed it resolved the issue!

Hi, normally OneMesh will not affect the router performance, you mentioned that Ethernet connection has the same issue, so it is not caused by wireless interference either.
Could you please use Ethernet connection to ping LAN IP address of the MR500 as well to see if it is stable? or the issue only happens when pinging public IP/website.
By the way, except for the ping issue, is the internet fast and stable?
Which two SIM providers have you tried? If you insert the SIM into a smartphone, then enable phone hotspot, and connect the same computer to the phone hotspot to test the ping, is there any similar issue?

@Sunshine
Good morning, thanks for the quick reply.
I started with using a Vodafone Sim, and then switched over to Lebara (same network but cheaper), and then used an EE Sim too.
If I put any on the SIm cards into my personal mobile, the ping is consistent around 55ms.
However regardless of the Sim provider, putting them into the MR500 will get stable ping first and then one huge spike before dropping back down and repeating.
The ping is only visible when pinging an external website. When I ping my LAN, I get 1ms response without any spikes.
I do have a MR6400 and putting any Sim card into this (like my phone) has no ping spikes. I would prefer to get the MR500 working though, as it gets much better 4G signal strength!
