New Release Wi-Fi Routers Support WireGuard VPN Now
VPNs have grown a great deal over the past few years, and as a result, we have seen an increase in demand for alternative VPN options on TP-Link routers. WireGuard VPN could be one of the most popular VPNs that we are seeing in the public community and forums. We are excited to announce here that we do have some router models that support or plan to support WireGuard VPN feature, and there will be more in the near future.

Moderator Note:
1. WireGuard VPN availability may vary by region, even for the same model. Please check your local website for details.
2. The list above may not include all models and hardware versions. It is recommended to keep watching the firmware releases for your router, as WireGuard VPN and any new features will be noted in the patch notes if/when added to your version.
3. If you're installing a pre-release or beta version of firmware from the official threads, please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding!
For other models that are not listed above, there is currently no definitive information if WireGuard VPN would be possible or be available in the future, and we don't have any specific details that I can share around. It's suggested to keep an eye on the official website or on the router web GUI/Tether app for any new updates.
Welcome to leave your comment below if you want to see your router to be added to the supported list. Be sure to include the specific model number and hardware version when requesting. Thank you very much.

Good job TP LINK!
So much people more than 1 year asking to release WireGuard on AX73, and you do nothing.
Customer focus 5/5
I think better use Asus then. Buying Tp Link was a great mistake.

Dumb but quick question. The AX73(AX5400) mentioned above, does that mean all AX73 versions regardless of which region it was bought? Say EU or HK versions?
@HAYWIRE Sorry, this hasn't been confirmed yet. Do you have an HK version? It seems I cannot find this version. Basically, the US and EU versions are planned to support WireGuard VPN.
But again, this is not a guarantee, and it's not suggested to purchase one when it's not implemented the feature you required. It's suggested to buy one that already has.
@Kevin_Z. No worries. My box says EU v2.0, but I believe this came from HK when I purchased it. Nevertheless, I do not use the VPN client now due to the router's performance limitations with the OpenVPN protocol. I sure hope WireGuard drops on the AX73 that I have.

I am very upset with the current course of the TP Link company. I once bought an 842nd, installed openWRT on it and it was the best router in its time. Now, I can't get wireguard VPN support for several years! I am forced to temporarily use a combination of Mikrotik + Tplink. temporarily, because I will never buy tplink again and will not recommend it to anyone. I'm very very very disappointed with the current support. compiling the Wareguard package for the router processor takes a few days.... sad =(((

I have thrown out 4x AX55 again. Ethernet backhaul only works with 2x AX55.
Reason for buying the AX73 was Ethernet backhaul with 4 devices - that works.
Now I also need a Wireguard Server for the AX73 v2.0.
Please put it on the feature list, send the TP-Link managers on vacation and serve the TP-Link developers coffee, pizza and good music.
The bill is on me!

@schnick How did you connect the 4xAX55 when you're connecting them via Ethernet Backhaul? Just like the following topo?
ISP modem --- main AX55 --- 2nd AX55 --- 3rd AX55 --- 4th AX55
As far as I can confirm, this topo should work without an issue.
