Hello,

Is there any update regarding AX55 Pro and its 2.5G port in EasyMesh satellite mode?

I must say that I am very disappointed with TP-Link. They produce dozens of routers and each of them has a number of hardware versions. Each of them requires specific firmware. This complex and fragmented product range seems to be overwhelming even for the company as they cannot release a detailed data sheet for each hardware version and keep it up to date. Thus, customers cannot easily find out about significant differences in the supported features.

I have a setup with two routers working as access points: AX55 and AX55 Pro, interconnected with a 2.5G Ethernet switch. My intention was to set up EasyMesh while taking advantage of the 2.5G port to speed up connection to a local NAS. I am interested only in wired backhaul. It is only in this forum thread that you can find out which router and in which hardware version supports it. This should be clearly stated in each data sheet. Fine, I checked that both AX55 and AX55 Pro support.

Then there is support for being EasyMesh main router while in AP mode. Why is only supported by AX55 and not AX55 Pro? The Pro version should be better, as it is not only newer but more expensive (BTW, the Pro lacks other features, e.g. ECO mode). Fine, AX55 has to be my main router..

Now I am finding out that AX55 Pro cannot use the 2.5G port while in EasyMesh satellite mode. This info is present only in this forum digging through old posts. I don't know if it is a bug or intentional. It's been over half a year since this issue was reported and there is no firmware update, so likely it will stay like that.

@LordBeerus обратитесь к врачу, вам там помогут. AX53 вышел раньше и обновление получает раньше.

@AleksanderHg We understand that the numerous models and the differences in functionality support for different versions have caused you confusion. We will strive to optimize our product releases and feature support to make the information more intuitive and readable.

Regarding the 2.5G port in EasyMesh issue, I would like to send you a beta firmware that aims to correct it via private message. Please check the message and confirm if it will work. Thank you.

Can you modify in your table the line AX53 V1 by adding AX58V1. Because the firmware in beta supports the AX53 V1 and AX58 V1.

Thanks

@Vetas777 Are you running the 1.3.1 Build 20241120 pre-release version? This version can be downgraded to the previous official version directly.

You can download the official firmware from the local website, then manually upload it into the router.

In the picture we see the AX55 series receiving this update but the AX73 V2 which is much better than the AX55 does not receive the update. As a customer who bought this AX73 V2 model, why did this model not receive the first update? What does TP Link think, meaning the AX73 V2 is a bad model because I don't understand the logic?

@LordBeerus Both AX73 V1 and V2 support EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul:

@Kevin_Z не занружается предыдущая, выдает ошибку. Номер версии выше, причина видимо в этом. Поэтому и спрашиваю- как это сделать?

@Vetas777

If you upgraded the firmware from the official 1.2.4 version to 1.3.1, then you cannot downgrade the firmware directly.

Please refer to this FAQ to try installing the previous 1.2.4 version on the device:

Upgrade the router firmware via firmware recovery (Method 2)
