Is it possible to use mikrotik router to use Nat & DHCP server function. Dont want to use master router. What will happens if master router failed. I have big network 25x Archer AX1500 wifi 6 router. I Want to use a mikrotik and a 48 port gigabit switch to manage my network & bandwidth of each router. All router lan port is connected to switch for ethernet backhaul, will it work ❓. For configuration and managing I want to use a cloud & app interface like cadmium. Can you suggest me

@RAKIB_HOSSEN

Please note that Archer AX1500 doesn't support EasyMesh in AP Mode. It only supports EasyMesh in Router mode. In this setup, you would experience double NAT:

Mikrotik router --- 48 port gigabit switch --- 25*Archer AX1500s (One must be configured as the main EasyMesh controller, while others act as satellite nodes)

If you're looking to manage the devices via a centralized controller, this topology won't allow for that, as the satellite nodes won't be manageable.

You might consider purchasing our Omada EAP devices, which support management through Omada’s Software Defined Networking (SDN) platform. For more details, please refer to https://www.omadanetworks.com.

Hello @Kevin_Z  Could you please release a new firmware update that support ECO MODE feature for Archer AX53 V1.

That feature will help reduce the energy consumption of the device which is beneficial for both the environment and utility bills. I think that's important nowadays.

And also DoH / DoT.

I think really important nowadays to enhance security and privacy.

Please pass it along to the development team and put this at a Top priority possible.

Thank you for your consideration.

Please support my Feature Request (link):

I need those feature as well for my AX53 V.1 yes @Router_Review

Nice we got a newer firmware on the Archer AX53 v1

I still have some issues though, where the auto-reboot feature doesn't work properly.

If the main router is turned off, and restarted, the mesh network doesn't restart, the satellite router is lost. You need to restart both the satellite router and the main router to rebuild the network.

Is this just an AX53 v1 issue? Or just an easymesh issue. If this is just a limitation with easymesh, I might have to buy TP Link Omada but that's quite expensive..

When Easymesh is working, it is working well!

This is my setup:

Main (AX53 v1) - latest pre-release firmware

Satellite 1 - RE705x connected through WiFi

Satellite 2 - AX53 v1 - latest prelease firmware, connected through ethernet (poor WiFi range to this part of house).

When main router is restarted, it can connect to satellite 1, but does not connect to satellite 2. This was a problem with this firmware and the other prerelease firmware before (from February?)

@Michaelflat1

Thank you for reporting the issue with EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul.

Could you please confirm whether the satellite AX53 V1 is connected directly to the main AX53 V1 via a long Ethernet cable or through a switch? If it's a direct connection, how long is the cable? If possible, try using a shorter cable and relocate the satellite AX53 V1 closer to the main unit.

If there is a switch between, please provide the model of the switch.

Additionally, please try moving the satellite AX53 V1 closer to the main unit and connecting them wirelessly to see if there is still an issue.

  @Kevin_Z Hello Kevin,

I'm still not able to fetch the newest update for AX53 via webpage neither Tether, it shows that I have newest version (1.2.4, 20240509), do you know the release date in Europe, Poland?

And second thing, currently my configuration looks like so:

ISP Router --- AX53 via just WAN port

My ISP router supports EasyMesh, but unfortunately not via Ethernet backhaul so I want to do something like that:

or

Which configuration would you recommend, is there any benefit of connecting them like in option 1? I know that there's another router in the middle, but would it cause any additional latency (more than 5ms)? And does it actually support connecting them in serial?

And is there any point of buying AX73 for the main router?

  @karolbalotelli

I have BE230 in AP mode. Connected to ISP router via WAN port. And two AX53.

Adding AX53 as satellites via ethernet backhaul is possible only when they are connected to BE230 only when eth cable is connected only to switch between ISP router and WAN port in BE230.

BUT to work as satellites they have to be connected to LAN ports of BE230.

And all LAN host have to be connected to LAN ports of BE230 or LAN ports in AX53s or other switches connected in cable network.

That way it works.

I do not know why it is so stupid way of working.

And after few months now I have working mesh with ethernet backhaul. That is Tuesday whole day bissecting issues.

Bonjour,

Pouvez vous modifier dans votre tableau la ligne AX53 V1 en ajoutant AX58V1. Car le firmware en béta prend en charge le AX53 V1 et AX58 V1.

Merci

Hello,

Can you modify in your table the line AX53 V1 by adding AX58V1. Because the firmware in beta supports the AX53 V1 and AX58 V1.

Thanks

In the picture we see the AX55 series receiving this update but the AX73 V2 which is much better than the AX55 does not receive the update. As a customer who bought this AX73 V2 model, why did this model not receive the first update? What does TP Link think, meaning the AX73 V2 is a bad model because I don't understand the logic?
