As far as i'm aware, the AX55 supports EasyMesh, not EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul yet. Though the alternative is just wired AP unfortunately.

Yeah i get how you feel, i've been following TP-Link's announcmenet about EasyMesh within it's 1st week of announcing in other threads for the C8 etc for over a year now, i own an AX73 V1, they gave EasyMesh for the AX73 V2, i even bought an AX55 half a year ago to get EasyMesh working to find out Ethernet Backhaul didn't work. Genuinely considering selling them all off for something like Asus.

@Kevin_Z yep, my two Archer AX55s are being returned and moved over to Synology. Lots of other fun controls there that TP Link doesn't support beyond the mesh ethernet backhaul networking.

Hi @Atsukio
I am in the similar situation as you. I have one ax73 v1, one ax55 pro and one c64. I have not noticed any chance in TP-Link Easymesh supported devices list for long time, so I think if I wanted to use mesh via Ethernet backhaul I would have to sell all of my TP-Link devices and buy Asus devices. Asus works with Ethernet backhaul and I think Asus AI mesh works with guest network too. This is what Easymesh can not. I really consider to buy Asus. In the past I thought TP-Link is the best brand. Now I think I was stupid that I had not bought Asus.

Funnily enough i used to buy Asus, but they had issues back in their WiFi 4 or 3 days, where their firmware caused the router to restart periodically, thus why i swapped to Tenda, and saw TP-Link being a decent offering. Only to find out TP-Links' WiFi 6 isn't stable with 160mhz and AX mode (so i set it to AC at max) on for VR followed by this EasyMesh debacle.

Back in the Asus N12HP router days, all their routers had a messed up firmware that pretty much stayed for months (not sure if it ever got fixed for those routers), where every few hours throughout the day, the router would choose to restart itself abruptly and there was nothing you could do about it. (Similar to the recent TP-Link AX55 drama which did the exact same thing, but took a couple of weeks or month+ to resolve, however 1 week in, i had already swapped out the AX55 from my main router (hoping the EasyMesh ethernet backhaul would come first before my AX73, and swapped the AX73 as my main router).
Though i was also considering the Asus TUF-AX6000 for my next router, as it seems to be more of the gold standard nowadays so im guessing those issues are now resolved. (And also potentially considering buying a 2 more Asus AX1800HP's for their AiMesh with ethernet backhaul)
