hi  @Kevin_Z,

Thanks for the effort.

A bought a third C80, did the initial setup, did the firmware update succesfull and did a factory reset.

Than used the WPS button to link with the main router.

I have now have a working mesh network with 3 C80 'Routers'.

Extenders are higher priced so this was a cheaper solution 😁

Regards,

Thom

  @Kevin_Z,

Easymesh will be the next step.

Running on Onemesh for now. 🙄

So your C80 routers are v2.20, but you're unable to update them with firmware 1.12.1 Build 221212 which supports EasyMesh with Ethernet backhaul?

Since you seem to be using OneMesh atm, do you know if they only communicate with each other over wireless backhaul or do they share the broadband over Wifi too? Meaning are your satelites C80 also connected with Lan cable?

  Hi @g3n0,

Futhermore, it was Onemesh in the first place.

I had to the use the EN support page to download the correct EU firmware.  🤣

After some trial and error i now have 3 C80 'Routers'.

One as Main router two as sattelite.

All connected by wire and working smooth.

** UPDATE **

Nevertheless, the C80 web GUI indicates Easymesh, the Tether App indicates Onemesh.

@Kevin_Z  Seems like a job for the software development team laugh

Well, I guess most importantly - the scheme works :) Thanks for confirming!

Since I have a 1 Gbit connection, I wanted to utilize the wireless speed by waiting until the feature and FW is available for any of the AX devices (that can reach 800-900Mbits over WiFi). Considering that it has been almost 6 months since the initial release and no updates for other devices, I just might give up and get a few of the C80 routers as you did.

@Kevin_Z

Hi,

wondering if I can do something that will force the connection to ethernet.

I have 3 Archerc80 routers, upgraded to latest firmware and configured them to easymesh.

The routers have cat6 cable connections ... but one of them is showing as connected via wifi to a low signal.

So, what can I do to force the connection to go ethernet/wired?

mesh wifi

  @Flpp,

Did you connect them through the WAN port?

That can be reason.

  @Thom_NL

OMG!

That was it, I was not using the WAN port.

And as this was the second mesh device I just pluged it and ... forgot to check.

thank you!
