  @Kevin_Z

Kevin, I have found what I believe is a minor "bug" in the firmware update. My network consists of an AX55 with two range extenders (RE605X and RE700X).

When using the AX55 web interface and viewing the Network Map page, clicking on Clients will display the list of connected clients. The clients that are connected via the RE700X display a "LAN" icon next to their IP address instead of a "2.5G" or "5G" icon.  Wireless clients connected directly to the router or via the RE605X display the correct icon. Before the AX55 upgrade, everything displayed correctly.

This is a follow-up message to my previous post. Today I replaced the RE605X in my network with a new RE700X. Both of my RE700X extenders have the latest firmware upgrade for EasyMesh capability. All wireless clients connected through the extenders display a "LAN" icon instead of a "2.5G" or "5G" icon when viewing the clients list on the AX55 web interface. Wireless clients connected directly to the router display the correct icon.

Hopefully this issue will be fixed in the next AX55 firmware upgrade.

@jra11500 Thank you very much for bringing this up to our attention.

Can you please confirm are both the previous RE605X and RE700X connected to the AX55 via EasyMesh? Can you please show us the hardware version and firmware version of the RE700X? We would like to follow it up with you via email and find out what's wrong with the current EasyMesh firmware.

Kevin,

Thanks for your prompt response. The RE605X is no longer part of the network as I replaced it with another RE700X. When the RE605X was connected to the router, I can only assume it was a OneMesh connection as its firmware doesn't support EasyMesh and its web interface showed a OneMesh connection.

My present network consists of an AX55 and two RE700X extenders, each connected via EasyMesh to the router and not in tandem. The hardware and firmware versions are:

Hardware:

Archer AX55 v1.0

RE700X v1.0

RE700X v1.0

Firmware:

AX55 - 1.1.5 Build 20221105 rel.1354(4555)

RE700X - 1.0.9 Build 20221108 Rel. 72364

RE700X - 1.0.9 Build 20221108 Rel. 72364

Hope this helps...

My second AX55 arrived today. Where are the instructions for setting up and connecting a satellite router?

In the web interface there is a section under EasyMesh for adding satellite devices but I would like to know what settings and physical connections should be set-up in the satellite device before trying to add it to the primary router.

  @Kevin_Z

Glad that I found this release. As I use the EU version, are there any significant differences between this and 1.1.6 version? Are there any other than legal circumstances preventing me to patch 1.1.6 us to eu device?

8. Modified security setting of wireless encryption - it doesn't apply to guest networks, there is the same old settings (No Security, WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA2/WPA3-Personal, Portal)

  @Kevin_Z

Scenario: AX55 with two RE700X extenders in an EasyMesh configuration.

I enabled the guest network of the AX55 for testing. Using Wifi Tool. I see that the guest network does not propagate through the extenders and is only available to those clients connected to the AX55. Can someone confirm that an EasyMesh network and a guest network are incompatible?  I know this to be true with some devices from other manufacturers such as Linksys.

@jra11500 It's suggested to follow this setup video to add the second AX55 to the main router.

Hello @Wit.cz, we don't suggest customers upgrade the device firmware across regions, and it will be against the warranty, you may kindly wait for the new firmware for your device on the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device. A wrong firmware upgrade may damage your router or cause the router to not function properly.

Every region is regulated differently. For instance, in the US, the FCC regulates the wireless frequency that can be used. While the bands and features are pretty much the same the channels available may be different.  Also, there are the power and outlet differences that have to be taken into account as well.
