Model: Archer AXE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a 1GB fiber optic line in my home, so I'm trying to get near-GB speeds via Wifi via the AXE75 (5ghz or 6ghz).

I'm curious what the max speed people are getting over wifi with this router? Anyone gotten actual GB speeds with it? One thing that confused me is I have a cat 8 cable connecting my modem and my router, but on the router settings page it's showing just a 1GB internet connection. Does this mean the router can only support 1GB internet? I would have expected this to be larger as many internet plans are now 2GB or 5GB.

Also, the cat 8 cable is plugged into a 5GB port on the modem. Thanks for help to figure this out. Cheers

According to its specifications AXE75 has got 1x gigabit WAN port.

That means whatever category ethernet cable you connect to its WAN port (Cat5E, CAT6, CAT7, CAT8) the throughput would still be 1Gbps.

You pointed that your modem has been connected with the 5Gbps port - that doesn't matter either, since the connection bottleneck is the AXE75 WAN port throughput - 1Gbps.

The speeds of 2402 Mbps on 5GHz / 6GHz bands can be achieved only in your local network - only between your wireless client devices.
