Choose Channel Width
I'm wanting to have the 5G signal be 160 mhz to get max speed, however I don't see a way to do that. Only option is what looks like an auto function that chooses 20/40/80/160. I have a full GB fiber internet so I'm attempting to get near GB wifi speeds.
Anyone know how to make the channel width be 160 mhz?

Thanks @terziyski for the input regarding the channel settings on the router.
While I learned that there is no separate 160MHz for the channel width settings, we can only choose the mixed 20/40/80/160MHz on the router. It's recommended to let the router decide by setting the channel width to 20/40/80/160MHz, this will automatically choose the channel with the least interference. On some older versions, you may find the option 160MHz for channel width settings, which also means the maximum channel width is up to 160MHz, and it is backward compatible with 20/40/80MHz also, just like the AXE75 does.
Regarding the channel switching back to 153 concern, that probably triggers the DFS mechanism when the router detects radar signals on a currently used 5 GHz DFS channel. Be aware that when the router is working on 160MHz, it will automatically bind two blocks of channels, that is band 1 and band 2, when it detects radar signals, it will switch to band 4, that's why you found it switches to 153 after working for some time.

Try deselecting Smart Connect Feature and then set the channel width to a particular value.
When Smart Connect feature is active, you can't select a particular channel width:

thanks for replying! here's my setup. my SmartConnect is indeed disabled, however still don't have an option to choose exact channel width as far as I can tell.
ALSO, I have manually chosen channel 44,but it keeps changing the channel as it is now 153 for some reason:

Well, I see that it's the first FW release for this model - it's quite a new device.
Usually when Smart Connect feature is enabled, you can't choose a wireless channel or a channel width.
But obviously that's not the case here - you probably should wait for a next FW release, which could correct this behaviour.

That's just my assumption, but yes, usually you could choose the channel exact width.
This device supports TP-Link Cloud Service, so you'll know when a new FW has been released, either by tether app notification or by login into the router's WebGUI.

I have a number of TP link routers that i manage that support 160mhz - some allow it selected on its own, others are like the OPs "20/40/80/160"
If you select the 20/40/80/160 option on an apropriate channel it will transmit 160mhz, but allows other devices that cant support that width to connect on the lower bandwidths.
