Hello,

I have noticed that everytime there is a power outage and the router shuts down when it comes back up the port forwarding and VPN server are no longer working. However, the internet still works fine. Usually a reboot fixes it but it is annoying especially since I've got services running that go down if the port forwarding stops working.

Is this a known issue? Is there anyway to mitigate / fix this?

Thank you

@pawker

When reporting such an issue, it would be better to provide a detailed network layout. Is the AX20 your main router for the whole network? What is the ISP modem type, is it in bridge mode?

When port forwarding and the VPN server stop working, how about the settings on the AX20, are they still active? Regarding port forwarding, how did you test if it stops working?

Is the internet on the AX20 itself still working and is the internet LED still green?

Hi @Liverpool20, thank you for your reply!

My network layout is as follows: the ISP modem is indeed in bridge mode and connects to the AX20 which is the main router to which I have another TP Link router connected as an access point via Ethernet.

Part of the problem is I don't have physical access to the router and I'm trying to manage this remotely. I know the port forwarding and VPN stop working because I cannot connect to the services running on the forwared ports or to the VPN. The internet on the AX20 itself seems to still be working.

When this problem happens the solution is usually to go on to the Tether app and restart the router from there.
