Model: Archer T2U Nano
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

When I manually set the 5GHz channel to 40 the WiFi SSID shows up. But if it is changed to 149 the adapter can not detect the wireless access point for 5GHz. On the other hand, my smartphone and smart TV (both Samsung) only support higher-end 5Ghz channels (e.g., 149). My T2U adapter seems to be made for the EU region. Could it be the reason for blocking higher end 5GHz channels? If so, is there any firmware or driver to override the restrictions and allow channel 149 on my T2U adapter?

  @tzpranto

Thank you for the feedback.  The (EU) version network adapter does not support 5Ghz band 4 channels (149-165), as far as I know that's related to the CE certification on the (EU) version products.  I'm afraid there isn't a workaround so far.

For TP-link adapters, the (US) version support Band 4 channels. If it's a new adapter, you may check if there is (US) version available sold in your area with the local retailer/ stores.

Here is a related FAQ for troubleshooting:  Why cannot the adapter detect the 5G Wi-Fi of my router?
