Hi,

Since I have first used the TP Link Archer vr2100 I am getting speed and connection delays. It happens constantly and can be experienced while loading websites or gaming, resulting in constant drops & reconnects. It happens for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.

Oddly, the Xiaomi repeater that is connected to the modem does not drop or lag.

I have rebooted the modem and all connected devices many times.

I have tried different channels and channel widths and the Archer wifi keeps dropping at any setting.

ISP: Aussie Broadband

Any help would be appreciated, otherwise I think a replacement would need to be issued.

See below speed test screenshots which clearly display the drop on the Archer wifi vs no drop on the Xiaomi repeater.

Xiaomi Repeater 2.4Ghz wifi (connected to Archer modem wifi)

@mtinkerman Hi, could you please also check the DSL sync speed on the Archer VR2100 as well?

(It is under Advanced>Status>DSL status and it would be highly appreciated if you could leave me a screenshot of it.)

I noticed the 5ghz speed from VR2100 was even slower than the 2.4ghz and May I know which device you used for speedtest? Have you tested on different mobile clients as well?

By the way, Do you use the same SSID on both VR2100 and Xiaomi repeater?

If possible, please help run the following test:

1. unplug the Xiaomi repeater from the network.

2. stand next to the VR2100 and run the speed test again, please also check the link speed as well.

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client
