Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.9 Build 20220316 rel.77514(5553)

Hello,

I purchased the ax55 about 2 months ago. About a month ago it started having these weird drop outs constantly every few minutes and then will reconnect pretty much instantly after about 10-20 seconds. My logs are below. When it first started happening I called my ISP (Spectrum) and they said everything was stable on their end but they saw that the router had been asking constantly for a new ip. (not sure if relevant) So after that I realized that my firmware was out of date so I ran the auto update on the firmware. It still didn't change anything so I then researched the forums and saw many of the same issuess. Many issuess were sent to a page where there was a "beta" firmware that was supposed to adress the issue. I downloaded that one and still same issues. I then switched my ethernent cable from using the port 1 to port 3. This seemed to fix my issue for a while but now its back. The same thing was happening in the logs back then, that it is now. When this starts happening its EXTREMELY bad. It goes down every 2-4 minutes for 10-20 seconds. I have plugged my ethernet straight from the modem to the pc and it was stable. So it has to be the router...Any help!?

  @Kevin_Z @Flipz @TiberioOliveira

Hi all,

I experienced the same issue with 20220316 firmware on AX55. So I downgraded my router to the 20220120. The issue is still there but a lot less frequent.

Now I am afraid of upgrading my router at all. What should we do?

@UNinaMe It's always recommended to keep the router firmware up-to-date, as the newer firmware could add some new features and fix some vulnerabilities. Please don't worry about the stability and performance of the official firmware, it has passed all the testing procedures and has been confirmed to be released publicly. I understand that you may worry about the stability as there are users reporting an issue about the network connectivity, but believe me that is not widely spread in all users' environments and networks, it is related to some special network settings in some users' environments. Most importantly, our support engineers will work actively to figure it out if there is an issue.

  @Kevin_Z I'm experiencing the same issue with my newly purchased AX55, running 1.1.0 Build 20220428 rel.64552(4555). I'm running the router as VPN Client which feature was added with the new firmware version. Could you confirm if the beta firmware can still run VPN Client? Thank you

@Peterlolz

1.1.0 Build 20220428 rel.64552(4555) should have supported the VPN Client, and the beta firmware we provided above depends on that version, so it also supports VPN Client, you can install it for a try.

  @Kevin_Z  I've flashed the beta fw and it was working fine until now. Unfortunately the issue is back again. Can we expect any more fixes for this fw?

@Peterlolz

Can we have more details about the disconnect issue you are experiencing? Is it the WAN/Internet dropping or the wireless dropping? Please go through the troubleshooting suggestions we provided in the following thread, then report back if the issue persists:
