Hello  @mmmser

For a dual band wifi router, please confirm computer is connected to 5Ghz wifi SSID, it is recommend to use diffferent SSIDs for 2.4/5Ghz if you can't identify which band it is.

Please try this chipset driver and see this helps improve the performance.

Realtek Chipset Driver for T4U(Plus)(Win7/Win10)

Please change 5Ghz channel to 36/60/44/48, and change 5Ghz channel width to 80Mhz and see what the 5Ghz wifi link speed, and speedtest result.

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

Thank you for your response.I've installed official drivers from the website from this link

I tried the drivers but they are not able to be installed on my Windows 8.1 operating system - I get a notification that my operating system is not supported.

I have two different SSIDs - one for 2.4G and the other for 5G.

The problem is when I set up 802.11ac in the Wi-FI settings, it still says that it is connected via 802.11 n. I get 500mbps from the provider, the linked speed is 433.3 mbps and the real speed on the speed test is 20mbps. I can post a screenshot of everything if needed.

Do you know what else I can do to solve this problem?

Hello   @mmmser

433Mbps is the 5Ghz link speed if it shows as 802.11n, that seems to be some display issue, while 20Mps is relatively slow.

Try a different USB port like USB 2.0 or USB 3.0

Try different channels on 5Ghz band and test speed if have not tried yet.

If the same, can I know the model of wifi router , and have a photo of the motherboard information & driver date on the computer.

Try tagging @me so I could notice your case faster. Thanks!
