Model: Archer VR600
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0074.0

Hey,

I have Archer VR600.

I bought an external 5TB hard drive and connected it to the router.
When I open the address 192.161.1.1 and enter USB sharing it shows me 0.
When I connect an external 1TB hard drive it works.
Is there a reason why it does not see the 5TB?
How much memory can be connected to it?
And if it does not support such a quantity, which model does it support?

... I wouldn't want to go wrong, but it seems like you can't go beyond 2TB.

@Eitrudy

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Actually, Archer VR600 support hard disk up to 5TB storage  But there is an issue that if the storage of single partition in the hard disk is 5TB, it must be divided to smaller partitions, otherwise it can't be recognized.

In theory if the partitions make you smaller there should also be no problems with 10tb disks the problem and recognize the entire partition that on the computer is enough to switch the MBR partition into GPT what it is not possible on the routers, unless the GPT recognizes By changing the MBR partition in precisely GPT. If so it is not, then 2TB are the best that can see unless 3 partitions (2 + 2 + 1) except hardware or chipset software restrictions.

  @PasKy

I think you are right, and the reply earlier is kind of confusing.

Archer VR600 supports both GPT and MBR partition tables.

And the total storage of HDD with multiple partitions is 5TB. But each partition needs to be less than 5TB.

For VR900, the total storage of HDD is also 5TB but a signal partition could be 5TB.

For most of the USB storage cases I have ever received, the final reason that caused the unrecognized problem seems to be the file numbers.

The limitation on the number of files on the Media Server function needs to be within 10,000 files.

I am still trying to learn more about USB sharing staff and would be happy to receive any comments.

Thank you very much.
