Firmware Version: 1.3.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 210208 Rel.61056n

Hi Everyone,

I'm pulling my hair out a bit here. I'm in between wired broadband providers at the minute, and working from home I need a connection so I bought an Archer MR600 to use 4G broadband.

When I put my phone sim in the device, it will connect and work, but seems stuck at 3G speeds (around 7Mbps down/2.5Mbps up) which is pretty poor. Doing some googling around I've found lots of threads that suggest Three isn't compatible with the MR600. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? I wish I'd done more research prior to purchase, as this doesn't really seem fit for purpose if that's the case.

I'm about 200m from my Three 4G mast, and with my phone a speedtest on 4G comes in at 220Mbps down/20Mbps up, but the router doesn't seem to want to connect.

Set to "4G Preferred", I get a 3G connection, internet light on router on, full signal strength lights. With "4G Only" on, internet and signal lights all turn off and I've got no connectivity.

Can anyone help? If I can't get this to work it's going straight back to Amazon!!

Thanks!

@ect76 Install one of the band-select enabled beta firmwares and try locking to band 3 or 1. The MR600 is known for it's problems picking the best channel. Could even be locking to band 20 (only 5Mhz bandwidth).

I found a 2015 LG G4 phone could outperform the MR600 on both 3&4G. My current phone hits 2x the highest ever 4G speed I saw on the MR600, without hunting for the exact spot to position it. The MR600 has terrible reception, I occasionally saw better speed with the aerials disconnected!
