Just bought a new adsl m/router. Its the tp link ac1200 vr400 v3 (2 antennas). The modem has dual band and I've been having problems with the 2.4ghz band. When I search from a device for the modem both 2.4 and 5ghz SSID show but it will only connect to the 5ghz and not the 2.4ghz. Switching it on and solves the problem for about 5 hours but then it occurs again. I've tried changing the channel for 2.4ghz and it will work for a few hours but then stop again. This is a relatively new modem so I'm very disappointed that this is happening but hopefully a firmware update is released to solve this. Tp link any firmware updates releasing soon? Has anyone else had this problem? Or managed to solve it?

On Modem wireless settings, please change 2.4Ghz Channel width to 20Mhz, and see it could work stable. 

If possible, it is recommended download Wi-Fi Analyzer software / app and select the relatively idle channel for 2.4Ghz. 

 

If that does not help with the issue, can you help confirm some details to help us locate the issue:

What is the ' Build ' number on the firmware version?  How about the 2 Wifi Leds on your Modem when 2.4Ghz stops working? 

For ' Switching it on and solves the problem for about 5 hours ' do you mean switch wifi OFF/ ON 
What are end-devices like  PC, laptop or mobile phone connected to the TP-Link 2.4Ghz? Do they drop at the same time?
