WA850RE Security
As many others, I have recently realized that the WA850RE extender is utilizing insecure WPA/WPA2 security protocol.
I have read your FAQ document explaining how to force some routers to use WPA2 security, however in that document there is no mention of the WA850RE range extender, and I cannot find such a setting on the set-up interface for the device.
Can you please let me know if anything can be done to ensure that the device can only be accessed using WPA2 security, to the extent that any network monitor would report teh security of it as WPA2 ONLY.
Clearly if this cannot be achieved it would mean that the device is not fit for purpose.
Many thanks

I have done more research into this and discovered that the extender will accept connections with either AES (CCMP) or TKIP.
TKIP is an obsolete and insecure protocol and should be deactivated.
Is there a way to deactivate it on these extenders or should it just go in the bin?
Considering these are still sold by TP-Link, it really should be a case of issuing a Firmware update to take care of the problem.
Is anybody from TP-Link listening or should I try through social media?

I thought I had installed that version of the firmware already, but I realise I was mistaken.
Apologies for the confusion.
This has now solved my problem and I am now getting a secure connection.
Many thanks for your assistance.
