Model: AP200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 150319 Rel.60489n

I have a DVR, with XMeye that functions for maybe an hour an then XMeye disconnects.

In Net Settings I view "Probing DNS."

This problem a result of incorrect router configuration? And what to do to resolve?

The router is MR3420 it’s set for WAN, only.

That the DVR is connected by cable. If I enter random DNS, IP does appear to function? I never loss internet connection and all other devices function normally.

Far aware I shouldn't have to fill out the DNS, IP for XMeye? When I try that I get no connection & again "probing DNS".

@Toople

If you can't open these links, then you may have a DNS problem. Try to change the DNS in your router like this:

Then test again.

@Toople Many thanks. I eventual landed here: https://hview.kf5.com/hc/kb/article/1032097/.

I had again tried my router IP as the Primary DNS, and several hours later remains functional. However, require an entire 24hrs to attain if this be resolved?

That original link you gave was super helpful. Thanks.

SMPT is this functional through Google? Require any port forwarding or any changes through the router?

@Toople Just accessed router and in UPuP I view three ports in use yet I was only aware of two? Should there be three ports? Each one require port forwarding? Protocol of each is TCP.

I also noted in "Port Triggering" my media port was with wrong port address. Just corrected that.

@Toople

Using Google SMTP doesn't require any port-forwarding on your router - just setting SMTP server address and credentials (username/password).

If you see these ports in UPnP then the router already took care of that.

@Ivaylo I don't know what that third port is doing?

I can report all is well this morning the XMeye App is functional.

Previously via remote access when away from home several months I've lost access. I"m not sure if this was the router, an internet company had made this allegation, or the DVR, or both? I do know that with a previous internet company they disconnected my service. Anther claim and I've experienced this while at home the router of the internet company -fibre optic- and/or my router hung up, this wasn't an uncommon situation. I tried installation of a timer to switch off both daily. In time I had the same problem of disconnection.

One reason I returned to this task I updated the firmware of the TP Link router.

@Toople

Most probably, your DVR needs that port. Here - https://www.cctvcameraworld.com/port-forwarding-for-dvr-and-nvr/

you can read what could it be or better check your DVR manual or manufacturer website for details.

@Ivaylo The big problem is it's generic and at least five years old.  Everything is still good.

SMPT, I read that Google & Yahoo, no longer supports DVRs/NVRs via port 465? This the case and any suggestions? Thanks again.
