Hi,

Can't help on the MR3040, but the MR3420 V1 & V2 are limited to 25Mbps due to PPP modem protocol.

Can't see why the MR3040 would be any different?

In terms of reliability the TPLINKS are tops .... in my opinion.

Is there a trick to the settings for Telstra modems?

I have the 320U - the TL-MR3040 says the modem is 'Identified', and the PIN is successfully validated when I enter it, but when it tries to connect the light on the 320U modem keeps flashing orange and eventually the router admin screen states 'Disconnected' (after a few minutes of trying to connect).

I have the V1 hardware and I installed the latest (Aug 2012) firmware.

What Dial string are you using?

You can flash this router to a faster version.
