M4 Speed Issues
Hi Everyone,
I was hoping to get some advice please.
I have a Virgin Media 1Gig connection which I'm running through a Superhub 4 (in modem mode) into a ER4 router. From the ER4 I have a switch and then the first Deco M4 plugged in to this. I have 3 x M4 units in total, all running in AP mode, since the ER4 handles all of my DHCP and QoS (which I don't have enabled at the moment). If I plug directly into the switch I can achieve the near 1 gig speeds (give or take), but then if I connect to the first M4 that wired into the same switch I barely get above 300mbps even when standing right next to it. I've tried this with different deices and all act in the same way. The two other M4s around the house don't have ethernet backhaul so I know the speeds will be lower on them as they're getting their links from the main deco, but its the main one where my issue is. Am I expecting too much from it to reach the near 1 gig speeds? Hopefully not! I'll likely be replacing the switch with a UniFi 8 port switch, but not sure if that would be the issue if I'm getting the speeds when plugging directly into the current one.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
