Wifi 6 client not available?

Hello,

I am trying to find Wifi 6 client. I absolutely dont understand, why this is not available?

If even smartphones can work as clients, why not this router?

This feature was common for all low cost routers in the past. Now it is unavailable. Only AP mode.

I want to connect to Wifi 6 AP with TP-Link router. How can I do this?

@TomasJ

Hello, do you mean you have a Wi-Fi 6 router works as the main one and you want to use the TP-Link router to extend that wireless network, while it cannot connect with Wi-Fi 6? May I have the model number of the main Wi-Fi 6 router as well as the TP-Link router?

Hello,

no, my intention is not to extend network.

But to connect to network and create bridge - Wireless to Ethernet.

So there will be main Wifi AP router. And to this router other Wifi device will connect as Client so then you can connect with ethernet cable.

For example you have two floors where you cannot route cable. Floor A is with AP, floor B is with client. But you have computers with ethernet that you want to connect in floor B.

This feature was available for decades in basically all Wifi routers, including TP Link. Actually Wifi 5 and older TP Links have this support.

But I cannot find a single Wifi 6 router that can do this. Why?

Can I have an example for the model that you mentioned supports Client mode? Actually, when we use the TP-Link router to extend the main wireless network, you can also connect it to the computer on floor B with an Ethernet cable, which can match your requirements.

@TomasJ

Are you refering to WDS Bridging functionality ? If that's the case, AFAIK AX (Wi-Fi 6) series routers doesn't seem to support it.

I believe TomasJ is referring to this feature:

Wasn't it more like an AP (also nano routers in the past) feature ?

@TomasJ No, I am refering to Client/Bridge mode functionality or at least WISP.

In this mode router is not Access Point at all, it is connecting to network and then you are in the same network. No NAT is performed ideally. WISP mode is doing NAT but at least it can connect to AP.

Simply I dont want to create AP at all, instead just connect to it.

In the very same way as you are connecting to Wireless Internet Provider to their AP. Why the hell this mode was removed? In recent years it was used very widely.

But since now people are becoming less and less inteligent, so they can't even make their own Wifi network, people probably need just AP and smartphones in hands.
