To avoid conflicts in compatibility, I ordered both MA180 and TP-MR3020 - assuming it would work flawlessly.
Although the MA180 plus SIM works when connected directly to my Laptop, it fails to be identified by the MR3020 in 3G only mode !
A Huawei modem on the same MR3020 with the above SIM works without any problems.

When trying to upload the MA180 modem into the MR3020 I fail to find out where to get the driver from.
Please advise urgently.

Also for compatibilty purpose, I've bought a MR3020 + MA180. It works fine, but it works better with an Huawei E1752 !

Which firmware version do you have ? with 3.14.2 Build 120817 Rel 55520n on a MR3020 V1 it works

Access mode : 3G/4G only

Hi, certainly seems you've got an more recent firmware version, despite the fact that I ordered mine only a week ago !

Firmware Version: 3.12.11 Build 120320 Rel.42138n
Hardware Version: MR3020 v1 00000000

I'll try to find out where I can download the firmware and try it again

Hi Elblanco,

after firmware upgrade, finally the MR3020 was able to identify the TP-link MA180.

tx for the tip=> I was looking in the MA180 support section to solve my issue, but you directed me to the MR3020.
bye

Do you have good performances with the MA180 ?

With my Huawei 1752 bandwidth is 3,5M/600K (average value)
In the same place with the MA180 only 1,5M/200K

I've made the test many times at the moment with both dongle.

I've made the tests with http://www.journaldunet.com/test-connexion/descendant/resultat/ (it's in france)

I have the same connection error as unopiubenelux describes, but with the newest firmware 3.15.2 Build 130326 Rel.58517n for my TP MR3020 modem.

Anything I should try - maybe downgrading to older firmware (3.14.2 Build 120817 Rel 55520n)

Thanks for any help.

Hi,
my TP-Link MR3020 (latest firmware installed) doesn't recognise my TP Link 3G modem MA180 most of the time. (out of 10x trying it only works 1once for less than a minute - then the connection is lost again.)
Most of the time I'm getting a "Unknown modem" error.
The 3G modem however works fine when connecting directly to my PC using the TP Link connection software. This means that the modem itself is ok.
I have pressed the RESET button on the MR3020 - it didnt' help further.
Switch on the left side is set to 3G mode.
Can you give me some advice?

Thanks and best regards

Stephan

Hi.
After you upgrade the router with the latest firmware, can the router recognize the modem on the Status page?

Your modem is also MA180? When you plug the modem directly into the computer, is it working properly?
BTW, which country are you in? Who is your Internet service provider?
