Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.11.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200325 Rel.56677n

Hello, i'm having a strange issue that makes me crazy.

Router connects to 4G and i get a reasonable download speed of 40 Mbps. I can navigate normally, but when i try to connect to Netflix through Amazon Firestick or through a laptop, there is no connection (via wireless). It is not only a Netflix problem. It happens with other streaming services (i.e. Amazon Prime).

Only when i force to 3G, then i can use streaming services normally (download speed tests are 6 Mbps). Switching back to 4G stops working.

Please, any idea about what can be happening?

Thank you

@davidtmx

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

If it is related to MTU, later I will send you a beta firmware and please have a try and update here with any news.

Thanks a lot.

Good day.

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

May I know how long have you had the device and when did the issue start

If the network mode was auto, would it still have the same issue?

By the way, where did you update the firmware MR6400-V4-Build 200325, is it the beta firmware?

Thank you very much.

@davidtmx
Have you tried using a VPN with it? Your connection and speeds should normalize and limit the issues. Firestick is usually better than most streaming devices since I personally tested it. However, i used it with a VPN and never experienced any issues so far. If you check out this guide. there is a small tutorial showing you how to make the best out of the apps you download. Hope this helps.

@Sunshine thanks for your time.

I have tried with the beta fw, but previously i was working with the official one. Now i have reverted back to the official firmware with same results.

By the network in "auto" i understand you mean using "4G preferred" mode. I haven't tried  because in this mode, usually connnects to 3G Network.

@Sunshine can you provide some support here ?

I have the device new from July. I suspect this behaviour is from the beginning (i didn't checked if it was connected to 4G or 3G). No SIM changed.

When network mode is auto, it's the same. When in auto if connects with 3G ok, 4G same issues.

Now working with the official firmware. I reverted it back.

I changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4 with no results

Reading some other posts, it seems it can be some MTU issues ? is there a way to solve it ?

Thanks

Hello, @Sunshine

i've just tried the beta firmware and.. It works !!

MTU changes to 1430.

Is there any plan to include these and other features (band selection) in an official firmware?

Anyway. Thanks!

@Sunshine please, could it be possible to compile a beta with the MTU feature and band selection? Router constantly connects to band 3 which is more unstable and has lower speed. Thanks

Hello Sunshine, I have the exact same issue related most probably to the mtu configuration. This is my hardware spec: Firmware Version: 1.10.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190521 Rel.38696n Hardware Version: TL-MR6400 v4 00000002 I have a stock firmware, last possible. Do you have a fireware who could solve this issue? Or there is some tips to change the MTU on this router? Thank you.
