Model: TL-MR100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 0.9.1 v0001.0

I've been facing frequent disconnects like other MR models. Signal strenght is 100% and router to my device distance is not more than 3 meter.

So far I've tried following steps.

  1. Creating custom network profile
  2. Setting 4G only mode
  3. Setting channel number to 1
  4. Setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
  5. Disabling firewall
  6. Setting channel width to fix value. (tried both 20MHz & 40MHz)

None of these worked. Also disconnects doens't happen at fix time, it's random. Something it happanes twice in a minute.

So far I've seen only following text in the log when disconnect-reconnect happens.

@hardiksondagar

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

For your case, we would like to follow up on your case by email, and please also help us check the following information:

  1. How long have you had the router and when did the issue start?
  2. Is Airtel your sim card carrier?
  3. Could you please send me screen-shots of the advanced-status page before and after the connection dropped?
  4. Did both a wireless connection and wired connection drop the internet?
  5. When the lost connection, what did you need to do to recover the connection, reboot the router or it would come back automatically?

Thank you very much!

Update: We do have a beta firmware now which could fix the instability issue caused by the auto bands-switching; so if anyone who figured out the network band would constantly change when the internet disconnected, please @ me or send me a message to have a try on the beta firmware.

Thanks a lot.

@hardiksondagar Occurs on me too. I just bought this and the time I used it, mobile phones are frequently disconnected from the network and then reconnected again. For laptops and desktops, only the Internet connection is lost, but still connected to the network. But using the LAN cable does fix the issue on laptops. But I want to use wireless connection on the router for portability though. So I guess the issue is with the wireless function and not the Internet at all.

@hardiksondagar Yes the problem is with the WIFI signal. I have also updated to the beta framework and the internet band fluctuation is gone but the problem that the wifi disconnecting still exists only with mobile phone. Wifi does not disconnect from my laptop.  Request tp-link to look into this at priority.

@hardiksondagar @

Hey Guys I figured out something very weird but useful today. I took one of my antenna out from the router (the left one ) and the fluctuations has gone since. I mean when I have 2 antennas the Db is : +6 , +10 , -15 etc . never stable. However when I take the left antenna out it is + 20 db fixed ;) Not more fluctuations. Can you make an explanation for this . It works great with 1 antenna now =) try to see it with your own eyes.
