If I just want to use the deco m9 to connect from a computer to a NAS without any internet connection will this work? It seems that some mesh systems require constant internet connection to function at all for some reason.

Hi,

I'm afraid not. The Deco devices need to be used and connected to the internet when configuring it via the Deco app, which requires a TP-Link account registration as well.
