What are you doing with this router? It does nothing but drop connection, Upload speed is twice the download speed, which is useless to me, the web gui is a joke, I try to add mac address's, to whitelist, and it delete's what I type, so I click refresh and I'm thrown all the way back to start again, forcing me to continually restart adding the mac address's, that's if I can remember where in the mess you call a gui, they are!

So I do a few speed test's using lots of speedtest sites, seem's all online speedtests recommended by the rich, say I'm getting the expected speeds I'm paying for, however, thats from the public ip, speed tests from the private ip address however, show I'm only actually getting 2 thirds of Any speed test, for instance, if my isp pays bing or ookla to say I'm getting 34mbs, why am I only getting between 4 and 15mbs, which constantly drops? Why is the router constantly claiming I'm disconnected?

Most importantly, if I add a 8dbi antenna and make the crappy signal go from 25% to 50%, why when I add an expensive 50dbi antenna, does it still say 50%? I'm an amateur radio enthusiast, and certified electronics engineer/programmer, so I know the fault is in the router. I noticed you also say you have released an update that I should install, but I have read it address's NO issues. I have disabled my wifi and use a second router due to your un-useable gui, my second router having tomato installed.

Fix the connection issues before asking me to install any update, when I read good tried and tested updates that work, I'll use them, until then, expect an un-official release of my own firmware for your routers, that address's the issues I have written of that so many people seem to get no reply to. I will be writting a damning review on trustpilot that will point out that when huawei products are made illegal, so will your products, since you do use huawei hardware dont you?

Fix the connection drops, the crappy speeds, or go bust before christmas!!

It's not what I know, but who I know :)

Then I'll update! (Maybe)

@Pachacouti

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

We are really sorry about your experience.

Could you please help us check the following information:

  1. May I know the model number of your TP-LINK router?—a picture of the bottom label would be highly appreciated:-D
  2. What is the current firmware and hardware version of the router?
  3. For the unstable internet connection, did it happen to both wireless and wired Ethernet connection?
  4. For the speed problem, Did you mean speed test via private IP is 2/3 of the speed via public IP, and may I know which speed tool you used?
  5. And as for the un-useable GUI, have you ever tried to reset the router and use a different web browser to have a look?

Thank you very much for your understanding and have a nice day.

@Pachacouti

Model: Archer mr600 (worst wifi router I've ever bought :(

Firmware Version:1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190412 Rel.66770n

Hardware Version:Archer MR600 v1 00000001

I wont update until I read of performance improvements from others who have clearly written that the wifi problems are FIXED, and that you have so far only updated firmware with one user's request who wanted some band switch? So many more want the wifi connection and speed's FIXED. The tplink gui constantly shows disconnected. Your ajax scripting causes this with the spinning wheel of -  kill everything but make that wheel spin. Ajax spinning wheel is the cause of most freezes in any hardware/software, since the work required to make said wheel spin is offloaded to hardware, slowing device to a freeze, just like kodi. It's not called the spinning wheel of death for nothing.

Speedstest site's, all top brand's, all report three's average reported speeds, as in what is shown on the review sites, is what the speedtest sites say I am getting to my ip, but from that external ip to router there is a drop of two thirds, meaning insted of the 35mb i should expect to reach, i only get on average 8-15mb a sec. The drop is at router level. I ended up doin a temp fix by disabling the tplink wifi, and adding my tomato router to the to the wan of the tplink router, in order to use the wifi from the mr600.

There was a noticable decrease in buffering, but speeds reported by the tplink gui are the same, 2 thirds of what I should expect. I sit in the center of three masts, all around 300 yards away using a 50dbi antenna, signal keeps dropping to 25%, no matter what I do. The thingis, if the speedtest sites all say my speeds are what is to be expected, why is there a 2 third drop in speed from my ip to my laptop? As reported by the mr600 router?

I mean, surely a firewall could allow a page to block mac address's? Just as another could Allow macs? Why cant we block by ip? or Domain name? Why do I have to wait 30 seconds to do anything after clicking any button? Why when I add an acl mac does it scrub each letter as i try to type the next? Why are we forced to have either block or allow macs, but not both? and most importantly, when inputting a list of domains to block or adding macs, why when i click refresh to get out of an ajax scripting freeze, am I placed right back to the basic page instead of a refreshed page where i just input 20 or so macs, only to have to do it all again every mistake made?

I have discovered another problem, one that tracks directly back to tp-link. I use a second router to see as much traffic log's as possibe, and it would appear that my second router shows the tplink mr600 is connecting, or attempting to connect to a mac address as follows:

daemon.info dnsmasq-dhcp[14010]: read /etc/dnsmasq/dhcp/dhcp-hosts
Aug 11 05:55:03 Studio kern.warn kernel: DROP IN=vlan2 OUT= MACSRC=d8:47:32:5c:1b:00 MACDST=ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff MACPROTO=0800 SRC=192.168.0.1 DST=192.168.0.255 LEN=316 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=66 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=36698 DPT=20002 LEN=296

I have read of others pointing out their router also connects to a mac address that uses the mac FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF <-please explain this mac?

Thank you for your patience ;)
